Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu – Preparation for the Pilgrimage +
Arrive in Kathmandu and check into your hotel. Spend the day preparing for the journey, including gathering necessary permits and attending a briefing. The evening will be spent at leisure or exploring the local surroundings before the pilgrimage officially begins.
Day 2: Kathmandu to Tibet Border – Crossing into Tibet +
After breakfast, travel towards the Tibet-Nepal border. Upon arrival at the border, complete customs procedures and cross into Tibet. Your guide will assist you with all formalities. Enjoy the scenic drive to your accommodation for the night.
Day 3: Drive to Mansarovar Lake – Scenic Views of Kailash +
Continue your journey towards Mansarovar Lake, where you will have your first view of the sacred Mount Kailash. Spend the day at the lake, soaking in the spiritual atmosphere and performing prayers. It’s a day of reflection and connection with the divine.
Day 4: Kailash Parikrama – Trek to the Base of Mount Kailash +
The day starts early as you embark on the Kailash Parikrama, a trek around Mount Kailash that holds deep spiritual significance. This challenging but rewarding trek offers stunning views of the surrounding peaks and is considered a purifying ritual for many pilgrims.
Day 5: Return to Tibet Border – Depart for Kathmandu +
After completing the Parikrama, you will begin your return journey to the Tibet-Nepal border. Once you cross the border, travel back to Kathmandu for some rest before your onward journey.
